About this Wiki

Thanks to all from the New York library community who participated in the 2008 Resource Sharing Summit October 23-24 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Lively roundtables, panels and thought-provoking presentations helped frame the discussion about the future of resource sharing discovery and delivery.

The summit was open to library staff and directors/administrators from all types of libraries.

  • Keynote speaker Rush Miller, University Librarian and Director of the University Librarian System, University of Pittsburgh, shared his thoughts on how two different types of consortia have evolved--and what the "next gen" might be.
  • Katie Birch, OCLC Portfolio Manager, OCLC Europe, exposed new pathways in OCLC resource sharing
  • Other topics included reporting from the Discovery and Delivery Working Groups, roundtable discussions and explorations of resource sharing models.
  • Presentations and notes are being posted here during the week of October 27--please take a look and start or join in a discussion.
